Customizable gaming PCs can be pretty expensive pieces of equipment, and for mainstream high-end systems from Alienware, Lenovo, and others, that is the case. But the ADMI Gaming PC is in a unique proposition where you don’t necessarily have to spend a fortune to get a custom build.
The ADMI Gaming PC is available in various configurations, but its specs aren’t usually terrible for the price. Our review unit is an entry-level model running hardware from AMD and Intel to deliver decent 1080p gameplay.
If you’re after a customizable gaming and productivity PC that looks beautiful and is affordable, the ADMI Gaming PC should be on your shortlist – provided you have lots of space on your desk. With an AMD Ryzen 7 processor and RTX 4060 Ti, it delivers decent performance while maintaining a silent fan sound profile.
About the ADMI Gaming PC
Here are the specs of the desktop in this review:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
- Graphics: Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti
- RAM: 16GB DDR5
- Storage: 1TB SSD
- Weight: 11.13 kg
- Size: 60.9 x 49.2 x 42 cm
The ADMI Gaming isn’t the least expensive gaming desktop available, but it’s close. CyberPowerPC and iBuyPower offer some affordable configurations, and they tend to offer some latest processors and GPUs, but the most affordable models have older chips. The monitor is not included in the package, you can pair it with something like the 32-inch Samsung UR59C and your gaming package will be complete.
What We Like
Decent performance is for the price
Configured with an Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti GPU and AMD Ryzen 7 5700X CPU, the ADMI Gaming PC can power through many games at their highest settings at 1080p. The ADMI can handle modern titles without slowing down, and you don’t have to spend a fortune to enjoy PC gaming.
And while this PC won’t run heavy titles like Cyberpunk 2077 at the highest framerates, even more, expensive machines struggle to hit higher fps on such titles, it nonetheless does a fine job at 1080p. In real-world gaming, you’re assured of over 60 fps at high settings, which should be enough for casual gaming. Played at 1080p high settings, Forza Horizon 5 reaches 126 fps, Far Cry 6 averages 112 fps, while Cyberpunk 2077 hits 76 fps – quite acceptable for an entry-level gaming machine.
It also makes a great for a great productivity machine, as the Ryzen CPU can handle lots of work-related tasks with ease, and some creativity tasks as well. But I wouldn’t bank on it handling heavy creative or editing projects, and it will not look great at the office. If you need something for gaming and productivity, there are lots of alternatives out there, including the HP Envy Tower (2023), which comes with a dedicated graphics card, a powerful Core I CPU, and a whopping 4TB of SSD storage.
Again, the ADMI Gaming PC’s 1TB solid-state drive is speedy enough, meaning you can transfer your large files in a few minutes. The solid-state drive and RAM are upgradeable should you need more space and speed to store your documents, game files, photos, and videos. The HP Envy TE02-0042 offers the same 1TB SSD storage, but comes with an Intel Core i9-12900 and offers excellent connectivity including USB-Type-C with Thunderbolt 4, for around the same price.
The case is beautiful and spacious
Some prebuilt are built as showpieces, or display cases meant to be looked at but never opened – not so with the ADMI Gaming PC. This juggernaut of a case is easy to handle, easy to take apart and put back together, and has lots of space for replacing and adding components.
On the outside of the case, a lot is going on. The white case has front easy access ports, with beautiful RGB lighting on the inside, and a transparent side panel that showcases the internal components.
Around the back, there are additional USB ports, legacy PS/2 ports for older mice/keyboards, and audio jacks. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card has DisplayPort and HDMI connections for multi-monitor setups.
What We Don’t Like
Only basic configurations across the board
While the ADMI Gaming PC is affordable and is a decent performer in both gaming and productivity, it still lacks high-end configurations that can play games at 4K resolutions. Sure, our review unit supports DLSS but it doesn’t have the grunt to play AAA games at high resolutions. The RTX 4060 Ti is the highest configuration, but competitors like CyberPowerPC and SkyTech offer up to RTX 4090 and the latest Intel processor.
Should you buy the ADMI Gaming PC?
Maybe, if you want a budget gaming desktop with a solid GPU and processor
The ADMI Gaming PC is a good budget desktop, but it’s not ideal for pro gamers. It goes right into the mainstream curve with its all-aftermarket assembly, and it even covers everything with a tempered glass side panel. Down the road, you can swap out most of the parts.
On top of that, it’s a really solid value. We found ADMI’s pricing for the model we’ve reviewed is almost the sum of what it would cost to buy its bits on the open market, but you save on time.
The assembly work is neat, wiring is well done, making it even harder to argue the DIY route. Coupled with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X processor and 16GB of memory, the ADMI Gaming PC is a true example of a midrange gaming desktop done right. That said, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXiVR8040A14 remains our Editor’s Choice for midrange gaming PCs.
